Legendary.
I’ve decided I really want to go to China some time in the next year or two. Aside from the obvious choice of Beijing (+ Great Wall and Summer Palace), here’s the longlist of places I want to do:
Suzhou, Jiangsu Province.
Fenghuang, Hunan Province.
Gulangyu, Fujian Province.
Mount Tai, Shandong Province.
Jiuzhaigou Valley, Sizhuan Province.
Wulingyuan Mountains, Hunan Province.
Pingyao, Shanxi Province
Lijiang, Yunnan Province.
Dunhuang Caves, Gansu Province.I’d also really like to trek around Fujian province, tracing my ancestors on my mother’s side as far back as possible. I should be able to get to the 17th/18th century at least, and with any luck even further back.
I should also probably work on my Mandarin and Hokkien.
